Last weekend, Mae and I took a quick trip out to Cannon Beach, which is about an hour and a half from Portland. We drove through the snow-covered evergreens of the Tillamook State Forest to reach the chilly beach, which is home to Haystack Rock (apparently featured in early scenes of the popular 80's movie, The Goonies). After taking a walk on the beach, we dropped into Bill's Tavern for some fish and chips and headed home.
