Thankfully, Christopher didn't have quite as much homework this weekend. He was able to spare a Saturday morning to do some sight seeing with me. I asked for some suggestions from my colleagues at work and one gal wrote up a whole itinerary for us. It's nice to have someone else work out all the parking, eating, public transportation and sightseeing options for you. First stop was a great little breakfast place in the Potrero Hill neighborhood called
Just for You Cafe. They had good coffee.
And delicious beignets!
After we filled up on eggs, bacon, and such, we headed towards the
Muni station. We hopped on the T-train (and figured out how to buy our tickets, thanks to warnings from our friend Kevin!) and took it down to
Market Street and
The Embarcadero. There we visited the
Ferry Building and the
Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. Here are some pictures from that area.

After walking through the market and the Ferry Building, we continued on down the Embarcadero down to Pier 39. Then we hopped on a street car and took that back to the light rail station, which took us back to our car.

We made it back to our car and out of the city by 1:00. That left plenty of time in the day for Christopher to take a na...I mean do some homework. We spent the evening going to church and watching some baseball. We are a little conflicted - Giants or Phillies?? I think our hearts are still on the East Coast, so we ended up rooting for the Phillies - better luck tomorrow night guys!!
What an excellent blog post. You look good Mae! Very west-coasty.
ReplyDeleteWell, actually I believe the correct answer is the Yankees, but that's what you meant, right?
