Linnie's Visit and Moving-In Day!

Things have been a bit busy since our moving van arrived, so I apologize for the lack of posting.  We planned to have my mom (Linnie) fly out to CA after my sisters left so she could help us unpack our things.  Sadly, the moving van was delayed (apparently Florida is on the way to California from D.C...) so Mom's visit ended before any of our things arrived.  That just gave us lots of free time to do some sight seeing.  Here are a few pictures from her visit.

We took Mom to Half Moon Bay for a looong walk

When we rounded the bend on the beach we encountered this - the Ritz Carlton, Half Moon Bay!  It made me feel bad that I was making my mother sleep on an air mattress...

After 2 hours of walking on the beach, the sun finally appeared just as we were getting back to our car.  We decided to sit for a bit and watch the scenery and surfers.

And there is our home all stuffed in a truck...no wonder so many things were damaged.

This is how I feel about movers.

Our things slowly starting to arrive in our new place.

"Hmm, this box says 'fragile'.  Let's squish it and see what happens!"

"Oh, that's what happens..."

While the move and the movers were a bit frustrating, we learned that things are just things and they are not what really matters.  Here's our living room in the midst of unpacking.  Check back soon to see the finished product!
