Around this time of year in Virginia, back when Mae's family lived in the Purcellville house, we would have our annual "Lobster Fest." The family all gathered for an evening of lobster (hence the name...), shrimp scampi, and white wine out on the deck in the late summer air. Mae and I decided to carry on the tradition this year on our own to take advantage of the last few sunny evenings on our porch before we migrate to our new home. Here are some photos from our evening!
Mae made the traditional Lobster Fest banner (even though neither of us like lobster and we only made shrimp scampi...) |
We took a bit of time to enjoy the early evening before starting to make the pasta |

You know it's been a good party when someone ends up with a lampshade on his head... |
I know the-lampshade-at-the-end-of-the-party feeling, glad to see Chris wearing that hat!
